It’s a rare thing to have an a day so widely loved that was actually started by fans! Most “wacky” holidays are promoted by people or companies with an underlying agenda. (making money, promoting their product, etc) Not May the 4th. The beloved play on words – May the 4th be with you! – Star Wars day, was started by fans out of love for all things Star Wars. The day is celebrated in community gatherings, social media events and even partnerships with stores that hold special sales. As the day grew LucasFilm and the official Star Wars social media channels help spread the news about events.
Favorite ways to celebrate include:
Hosting Movie Marathons
Dressing up as Star Wars characters and posting with #StarWarsDay to your social media
Cooking Star Wars Themed Food
